So interesting to read about the page turn! I love how that's a thing that only works for a visual medium like manga. There's a certain level of audience participation in it too... from the physical act of turning the page (what am I about to see that I won't be able to unsee?) to the mental game of guessing what might be waiting on the other side... have I anticipated the correct out come, am I going to be surprised?
Would be interesting to see how it's used effectively in other genres.
Exactly! It’s funny how it took seeing it used as well as Parasyte uses it for me to grasp the value. I really am apprehensive—in a good way—every time it comes to turn the page. And I love that feeling! It’s the literal “can’t put this book down” feeling.
I wonder how it might work in other genres too. Even in Western comics I don’t see much impetus for the page turn.
I'm so going to be looking out for this now! I want to see if there's another genre that uses it as effectively, although I do think it probably more naturally lends itself to horror, just by the nature of the genre.
THIS was a page turner! Or should I say, scroller…? Regardless. Amazing!
Aw thank you! You’re too kind. I will strive to make all articles scrollers.

Oh, this text reminded me... I'm still sad that Kana died, hahahah, good work!
Thank you! I couldn’t believe she died. Very unexpected. She was such a great character!
